Journey to the Hub

From Research to Action

Insights from Aging Out Without a Safety Net

The creation of the Holistic Hub for BIPOC Youth+ is grounded in the findings of the Aging Out Without a Safety Net project (2018–2022), funded by Women and Gender Equality Canada. This research revealed the difficult realities faced by youth exiting care, particularly in areas like:

  • Insecure housing

  • Unstable employment

  • Barriers to essential services

These insights confirmed what lived experience had long shown: BIPOC Youth+ need more than temporary solutions—they need holistic, culturally grounded, long-term support.

Why a Holistic Approach Matters

Building Futures, Shaping Change

Too often, systems focus only on short-term fixes. The Holistic Hub is different. It responds to youth needs by offering a full ecosystem of care that includes:

  • Emotional and cultural supports

  • Skill-building and mentorship

  • Stable, safe housing

  • Pathways to education and employment

This isn’t just about meeting needs—it’s about creating opportunities for youth to thrive on their own terms.

How You Can Support

The Holistic Hub is built with community—not just for it. Youth, community leaders, and service providers have shaped this vision every step of the way.
